Daisy Chain paper garland

Spring is in the air, and I for one couldn’t be more excited. Ripening berries, warmer temperatures and blooming flowers have been filling the longer days, and I’ve been itching to get Spring decor sprinkled throughout the house. I’ve been loving the resurgence of vintage decor and the paper chains filling my pinterest board had my brain swirling with ideas. I created a warm earth toned paper chain garland for Penny’s birthday, and I began thinking of different ways to incorporate the trend into this season. Enter, the daisy chain!

Below you’ll find a step by step tutorial to create your own paper chain, along with a 12×12 template to print out or pop into your cutting machine, enjoy!

Step 1

  • Start with a 12×12 sheet of paper
  • Use this template to cut out your “leaves” (each sheet will give you enough for 1 1/2 flowers

Step 2

  • Once your leaves are cut, place one small piece of tape in the center of each “leaf”
  • Loop the top and bottom of leaf and connect to the piece of tape

Step 3

  • Next tape each leaf on top of the other, creating a “t” shape, then an “x” shape

Step 4

  • Cut your circle approximately 1 1/4 inch and tape in the center of your flower

Step 5

  • Cut 1 inch strips of paper to connect the flowers together
  • Loop the strips of paper to the top and bottom of two flowers
  • Tape the underside of the strip and loop together
